<p>In a metal inspecting method and a metal inspector comprising a detection coil the shape or the like of which is changed according to an inspection object or a required detection precision, a precise detection of a change in the magnetic flux in a direction along the surface of a specimen (2) and an improvement in the precision of metal inspection are achieved. A metal inspecting method (metal inspector (1)) for magnetically inspecting the inner condition and/or surface condition of the specimen (2) of a metal enables the detection of a change in the magnetic flux in the vicinity of the surface of the specimen (2) by a detection coil (4) the center line of which extends along the surface of the specimen (2) while an AC magnetic field is being generated along the surface of the specimen (2), inside the specimen (2) and/or in the surface space of the specimen (2), and the outer periphery face of which locally faces the surface of the specimen (2).</p> |
