摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concrete structure and manufacturing method of an electrophoresis device for allowing a laser beam incident on a capillary array from one direction or two opposing directions to transmit through adjoining capillaries one after another across the capillary array. <P>SOLUTION: The electrophoresis device comprises a capillary array having several tens of (e.g. 30) or 100 or more capillaries arranged on a support base of a U-shaped capillary fixing container composed of the support base and a capillary sidewall pressing plate. A fluorinated polymer is used as a filling medium to fill the spaces between adjoining capillaries. A laser beam is applied to the capillaries from one direction or two opposing directions with respect to the capillary array, so that the light beam transmits through the capillaries one after another across the capillary array. The light beam thus emerging from the capillary array is detected by a photodetector. In the device, the filling medium is charged to cover the entire surface or more than half the outer surface of the cross section of each capillary. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
