PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which permits respective arbitrary setting of the quantities of ion generation and movement thereof in an ion generator zone and the charging potential of a photoreceptor when an ion generator is used for a charger. SOLUTION: A conductive plate is installed between the ion generator and the photoreceptor and the setting of the quantities of ion generation and movement thereof is performed by the electric fields generated by the AC voltage applied to the ion generator and the voltage that the offset voltage thereof is applied to the metallic plate and the setting of the surface potential is performed by the voltage applied to the metallic plate.
