<p>The present invention discloses an optical (de-)multiplexing structure (10) comprising a first optical filter (12) having a first input port (18), at least one first output port (20), and a first filtering characteristic with periodically spaced first passbands. The first passbands each comprise a first passband shape and each are centered at a plurality of first center wavelengths. A second optical filter (14) is provided having a second input port (30), a second output port (32), and a second filtering characteristic with periodically spaced second passbands. The second passbands each comprise a second passband shape and each are centered at a plurality of second center wavelengths. In the structure (10), the first output port (20) is coupled to the second input port (30) for providing a cascaded filter structure (42).
