PURPOSE: An accumulator is provided to achieve improved performance of heat exchange of an air conditioner by permitting the high temperature refrigerant discharged from the compressor to be heat exchanged with the low temperature refrigerant in the accumulator prior to the entry into the condenser. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises a compressor, a condenser, an evaporator and an accumulator(40). The accumulator has an inlet pipe(41), an outlet pipe(42) and a refrigerant pipe(50) connected between the compressor and the condenser. The refrigerant pipe is arranged to pass through the inside of the accumulator, and bent so as to achieve improved efficiency of heat exchange.
