PURPOSE:To detect fingerprints by atomizing a solution with elastic vibration generated by an ultrasonic exciter, spraying the mist on the surface of an object to form a thin film of a substance contained in the mist on the surface, and reacting substances contained in fingerprints on the surface with the substance contained in the mist. CONSTITUTION:When a piece of paper is fed from an inlet, the paper width is measured by a sensor 4, and rotating supports 3 support the paper according to the width and feed the paper toward an outlet. A solution of ninhydrine is sprayed uniformly on both sides of the paper by an atomizing device 1 to form a thin film of ninhydrine. The paper sprayed with the solution passes between air blowers 2 and fed toward the outlet. If there are fingerprints on the paper, coloring is observed due to the reaction with ninhydrine. Thus the structure is simple and can be driven with a low electric power consumption. |
