A device (3) for controlling a roller shutter having drive belt (13) and motor (15) comprises memory and processor (26), monitors (23,24,39) and touch controls (34,35). The electric motor stops the drive at the monitor-indicated maximum open position and then moves back slightly. This position is memorized. An Independent claim is also included for a control as above in which the position-setting process is performed when first switching on the current supply.
