Cut material is discharged at the end onto an extraction drum (66) over a concave guide surface (62) with a hinge axis (69) carrying a guide flap (68). The flap may direct the material down toward the ground or up toward a guide flap (78) adjacent to a cutting rotor (74). Chopped straw is discharged through a chute (76).
