Silicate-reinforced, high temperature-resistant thermoplastic compositions (I) containing (A) thermoplastic polyamide, (B) styrene/maleimide copolymer, (C) impact modifier and (D) layer silicate, in which some of the amine end groups in (A) are reacted with the modified layer silicate (D) before adding components (B) and (C). An Independent claim is also included for a method for the production of (I) by compounding (A) with (D) so that some of the amine end groups in (A) react with (D), and then adding (B) and (C).
