LOOSE TUBE RIBBON CABLE

PURPOSE: A loose tube ribbon cable is provided to improve water resistance characteristics and compression characteristics as well as to improve the appearance of the loose tube ribbon cable. CONSTITUTION: A loose tube ribbon cable includes a central strength member(210), a plurality of loose tubes(260), a plurality of round waterproof(300), a waterproof tape(270) and an exterior cover(290). The central strength member(210) is placed at the center of the ribbon optical cable. Each of the plurality of loose tubes(260) mounts therein a ribbon optical fiber bundle(240) including a multi-core optical fiber and a cover enclosing the multi-core optical fiber. Each of the plurality of round water-blocking members(300) is located in a groove formed between a pair of adjacent loose tubes(260). The waterproof tape(270) encloses the plurality of loose tubes(260) and a plurality of round water-blocking members(300). And, the exterior cover(290) is located on the utmost surface of the ribbon optical cable so as to protect the inside from the external environment.
