PURPOSE: An MO(Magneto Optical) pickup device is provided to simplify a structure of a disk by putting a reproducing layer on a bottom of an SIL, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost of the disk. CONSTITUTION: An SIL(Solid Immersion Lens)(12) is provided. A readout layer is formed on a bottom of the SIL lens. The readout layer is formed at a slider(11) with an objective lens(10) and the slider floats over a surface of a disk at a certain height when the disk rotates. A recording layer(14) is formed on the disk, having an air gap with the reproducing layer. The reproducing layer is floating over the disk, with maintaining the air gap to read and write optical signals.
