<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ozone decomposition filter constituted by uniformly and strongly fixing inexpensive manganese dioxide having an excellent ozone decomposing catalytic capacity to the surface of a porous carrier excellent in air permeability without using a binder or a high temperature baking process. <P>SOLUTION: A manganese nitrate solution is infiltrated in a porous carrier, which has open pores and of which the material itself forming the skeleton of the carrier has an open pore structure, and the infiltrated carrier is heated to 129.4-420°C in air to strongly fix a uniform film of manganese oxide to the surface of the porous carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
