PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbid water treatment apparatus capable of enhancing the sedimentation efficiency of soil particles, and a turbid water treatment method using the same. SOLUTION: The turbid water treatment apparatus has a water guide passage 1 for introducing turbid water containing soil particles, a storage tank 2 for receiving turbid water from the water guide passage 1, a drain passage 4 for draining supernatant water of turbide water introduced into the storage tank 2 to the outside of the storage tank 2 and the outer peripheral wall 3a of a supernatant liquid promoting tank for partitioning the storage tank 2 into the upstream region X connected to the water guide passage 1 and the downstream region Y connected to the drain passage and allowing the regions X and Y to communicate with each other under the outer peripheral wall 3a.
