The present invention relates to: 2D-long fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composites, particularly suitable for brake lining applications. The long fibers of said composites are selected from the group consisting of carbon fibers, non-oxide ceramic fibers and mixtures thereof while ceramic matrix is a biphasic ceramic-amorphous matrix; manufactured articles, consisting at least in part of at least one of said composites; a mixed process for manufacturing said composites.
