The lock comprises a pivoting lever(8) rotatable in the housing(1) and with a protruding guide element(9) and associated drive(19). A pivot-mounted catch hook(12) is fitted on the pivoting lever and is a distance away from the lever's pivot point(7). The catch hook has a cam segment(14) at a radial distance from the hook's pivot point(11) and in it engages the guide element of the pivoting lever. A spring arrangement(17) preloads the catch hook in the closing direction until the guide element bears upon a first end stop(14').
