PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cotter fitting device, which has a simple structure, and can simplify an assembling procedure, and can surely fit a cotter even when a plurality of engage grooves are provided. SOLUTION: A grip arm 150 grips a retainer retaining a pair of cotters. The pair of the cotters is horizontally separated by means of a push-up pin 65 and a guide pin 180. A valve stem is inserted into the separated cotters and positioned. The pair of the cotters is engaged to an engage groove by horizontally pushing the cotters by means of a push arm 160 from the outside. Accordingly, because the cotters can be fitted with a simplified assembling procedure, productivity is improved and the cotters can surely be fitted to even a plurality of engage grooves.
