PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine for folding noodles in two having such a mechanism that in folding a group of noodles with a folding blade, part of the group of noodles whose advancing direction reverses is guided in the reversing direction to prevent the group of noodles from getting out of shape, and to provide a method for folding the noodles in two. SOLUTION: The machine works as follows. In folding the noodle group 8 by the movement of a folding plate 61; a swing roll A2 set under the folding plate 61 is moved to a position so as to stand against a guide roll 97 and nip the noodle group 8 with the help of the guide roll 97. The noodle group 8 thus nipped with the swing roll A2 and a net conveyor 7 is conveyed, by the rotation of both of the swing roll A2 and net conveyor 7, oppositely to the conveying direction by a pair of guide rolls 96 and 97 set above the folding plate 61. Thereby, both of the upper half and lower half of the noodle group 8 with the boundary at the center in the longitudinal direction thereof are evenly held and guided in the moving direction of the folding plate 61; thus providing the objective uniform noodle group 8 folded in two without getting out of shape.
