PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently separate a surface excess liquid at a reduced running cost by a simple structure. SOLUTION: A separator for separating the surface excess liquid has the capillaries 2 arranged to a liquid surface to raise the liquid, the electrodes 3 arranged above the capillaries 2 to electrostatically atomizing the liquid discharged from the capillaries 2 and a closed recovery chamber 4 for condensing the atomized mist to recover the same. This separator recovers the mist of the liquid discharged from the capillaries 2 by the closed recovery chamber 4 to separate the surface excess liquid on the surface of the liquid.
