The method involves acquiring a user-specific acoustic signal sequence, comparing with at least some defined acoustic signal sequences, selecting that sequence of the predefined sequences that exhibits the closest degree of coincidence to the user-specific sequence in relation to at least one acoustic signal parameter that is characteristic of an acoustic signal sequence. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a communications terminal with an acquisition device for an acoustic signal sequence (b) and a memory device.
