PURPOSE: A method for assigning a link of a base station in a mobile communication system is provided to realize the optimum link assignment even in case that a base station is formed of two racks. CONSTITUTION: A terminal requests call setup(S101). A state of a processor is checked(S102). It is checked whether the processor is in an active state(S103). If so, position information of a rack where the corresponding processor is located(S104). It is checked whether the rack is a front rack(S105). If so, a frequency value of the call setup request of the terminal is read(S106). It is checked whether the frequency value is an 0FA(S107). If so, a link having the minimum load in 0 ¯ (MAX_LINK_PER-RACK-1) links is assigned(S108). If not, it is confirmed whether the frequency value is 1FA(S109). If so, a link having the minimum load in MAX_LINK_PER-RACK ¯ (2*MAX_LINK_PER-RACK-1) links is assigned(S110). In case that the rack is not the front rack, it is checked whether the rack is a rear rack(S111). If so, a frequency value of the call setup request of the terminal is read(S112). It is checked whether the frequency value is an 0FA(S113). If so, a link having the minimum load in MAX_LINK_PER-RACK ¯ (2*MAX_LINK_PER-RACK-1) links is assigned(S114). If not, it is confirmed whether the frequency value is 1FA(S115). If so, a link having the minimum load in 0 ¯ (MAX_LINK_PER-RACK-1) links is assigned(S116).
