<p>Water and syrup are supplied from two constant level tanks by gravity to a simple mixing device; this consists of a vertical cylinder which is closed at its upper end and has a restricted outlet at the bottom. Syrup enters via an elbow and the water enters above the elbow and flows around the latter to a reception tank for the mixture. A pump takes the mixture to the bottling point. The relative proportions of syrup and water can be regulated exactly by means of needle valves and a prod. can be obtd. with a constant compsn. Safety devices are fitted which give an audible or visible signal should the level in either tank fall below the normal. Device is used in the mfr. of sodas, lemonades and drinks made from fruit juices. It is less cumbersome than existing plants and dispenses with the costly dosing pumps which are difficult to maintain.</p> |
