PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying apparatus which is reduced in cycle time thereof and correctly and smoothly carries out mounting of a sheet member on a workpiece. SOLUTION: The conveying apparatus is comprised of a mounting means 2, a conveying means 3, a sucking means 5, and a separating means 6. The mounting means mounts thereon a plurality of rubber packings G in a laminated state. The sucking means 5 is formed on the tip of the conveying means 3, for sucking a top one of the rubber packings G mounted in the laminated state, and releasing the sucked rubber packing G at a location at which the workpiece W is held. The separating means 6 separates the top rubber packing from a second top one at the time of suction by the sucking means 5. According to the conveying device, the separating means 6 is formed of a pressing member 12 for pressing side surfaces of the second top rubber packing, and by using a pressing force of the pressing member 12, the second top one is distorted upward and downward, to thereby separate the top one from the second top one.
