PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar coating method in which the occurrence of stripes or the like caused by the uneven distribution of fine solid materials in a coating liquid is prevented. SOLUTION: In the method of applying the coating liquid on a continuously traveling web by using a measuring bar having a spiral or annular groove, the coating liquid is supplied to form a liquid reservoir right before a contact part of the web with the measuring bar and the coating liquid in the liquid reservoir is forcibly stirred.
