PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dross removing method which enables the removal of dross removes adhering to a cut face of a workpiece due to plasma cutting or the like, as appropriate, and to provide a dross removing apparatus for use in the method. SOLUTION: The dross removing apparatus 1 is comprised of a rotary wheel 2, a bearing means 10, and an articulated robot 30. The wheel 2 has a plurality of grinding chips 6 inclusive of diamond abrasive grain arranged along a periphery 5 of a disk-like main body 3. The bearing means 10 resiliently bears the wheel 6 in a manner radially movable toward an axial center of the wheel. The articulated robot 30 allows the bearing means 10 to be attached to the tip thereof, and moves and rotates the bearing means 10 together with the wheel 6 in three-dimensional directions.
