PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flux cored wire for stainless steel arc welding with which satisfactory welding operability can be obtained particularly when thin sheet stainless steel is welded. SOLUTION: The flux cored wire for stainless steel arc welding is obtained by packing flux into an outer skin made of stainless steel. The flux comprises, as a ratio to the total weight of the wire, 5.5 to 10.0% TiO<SB>2</SB>, 1.5 to 3.0% SiO<SB>2</SB>, 0.5 to 1.5% Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and a fluorine compound of 0.10 to 0.15% by a value expressed in terms of F, wherein the content of ZrO<SB>2</SB>is controlled to≤0.1%, the ratio of the flux is 25 to 45%, and the total content of a slag forming agent is 8 to 14% as the ratio to the total weight of the wire.
