PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiphase emulsion, a method for producing the emulsion, and application of the emulsion. SOLUTION: A granular solid is dispersed in a B phase, or an A1, B1, or A phase and the resulting suspension is dispersed in the A1 phase, the B phase, the A phase, or the B1 phase and an emulsion obtained in such a manner is dispersed in an A2 phase or a B2 phase containing the granular solid. A stable multiphase emulsion can be obtained and it can be used for control release or control and slow release of functional substances to the environments in form of a formulation, a cosmetic product, medical product, a food product, feed, an agricultural agent, and a catalyst.
