PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food storehouse solving the problems that conventional grain storehouses are essentially terrestrial constructs without exception, as a result, the techniques dealing therewith are made difficult endlessly, eventually resulting in going against laws of nature and also making the characteristics inherent in plant and involved in species preservation neglectful. SOLUTION: The food storehouse comprises a storehouse body 2, an entrance/ exit side passage 3 and a longitudinal passage 4 for communication to the ground, wherein the storehouse body 2 and the entrance/exit side passage 3 are embedded in existing soil 9 at a specified depth 9A, the longitudinal passage 4 being embedded in the existing soil 9 with an upper portion 4A1 thereof remaining on the ground. Thus, the freshness soundness of grains in this storehouse, taste as the first of all, is intended to maintain/preserve by bringing grain live cells to non-respiratory/apparently died condition.
