A process cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic apparatus, said cartridge includes a photosensitive drum; process means; a first contact portion (107d) provided on a bottom surface of a cartridge frame (107) provided at one longitudinal end, the first portion being guided by a first assembly side guide (Ga,Ga1) when the cartridge is mounted, wherein the first portion is disposed at a leading portion with respect to a cartridge mounting direction, and the first portion is mounted to a first assembly side receiving portion (Ga4) when the cartridge is mounted. In addition, there may be a cartridge coupling (7a1) disposed above the first contact portion (107d), the coupling being engageable with a assembly side coupling to receive a rotational force from the assembly; and a second contact portion (107e) provided on a bottom surface of cartridge frame and being disposed behind the first portion with respect to the mounting direction, wherein the second portion is effective to limit rotation of the cartridge in a rotational direction of the drum. Else, there may be a third contact portion (107g), provided on said cartridge frame at a position behind said first contact portion (107d) with respect to the mounting direction, for limiting movement of said process cartridge by an urging force applied to said photosensitive drum from transferring means (4) provided in the main assembly of the image forming apparatus when said process cartridge is mounted. <IMAGE> |
