PURPOSE: An Internet voice communication gateway system capable of separately processing a signal and media by using common channel signaling and a voice communication service providing method are provided to transfers a service to a user at a high speed by distributing load of a gateway system. CONSTITUTION: A common channel signaling network(101) and a PSTN(103) interwork to be connected to the Internet(106). A CNAS(CCS No.7 Network Access Subsystem)(102) is connected to the common channel signaling network(101). A VNAS(VoIP Network Access Subsystem)(104) provides a VoIP service at the Internet. An Ethernet switch(105) connects the CNAS(102) and the VNAS(104). The VNAS(104) manages a signaling point of the common channel signaling network, a destination number or a trunk link ID. The CNAS(102) manages a trunk and channel information of the VNAS as a table and distribute them. An SCTP(Stream Control Transmission Protocol) and an M3UA(MTP3-User Adaptation) layer are used between the CNAS(102) and the VNAS(104). An NIF(Nodal Interworking Function) provides an interworking function between the SCTP and the M3UA.
