An insulator 100 electrically insulates a support or bolster plate 110 for a circuit board. The insulator 100 includes a sheet of insulating material sized and shaped to insulate the bolster plate 110 with at least one hole 101 through the sheet of material 100 to accommodate a fastener 112 for securing the insulating material with the plate. The holes 101 may include a round central portion (102, fig. 2) and radiating slots (103, fig. 2) which define tabs (104, fig. 2) that interfere with the threads (113, fig. 5) so that the screw 112 can screw through the insulator. The screw may include a plain shaft portion (116, fig. 5) between the threads (113, fig. 5) and the head (115, fig. 5) to retain the insulator 100 and support plate 110 fully on the screw 112 whilst still allowing the screw to be further driven to attach the sub-assembly to another component. The screw 112 can be removed from the insulator 100 by driving it in the reverse direction. |
