<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game apparatus which can analyze game music and can play back a game music without a sense of incompatibility within the range of the limited number of sound sources possessed by a sound source device. <P>SOLUTION: Priority information, which is set based on the musical analysis of the contents of the game music, is provided in terms of the game music. The priority information serves as standards for determining which sound data among game sound data should be played back with priority. The musical analysis means consideration, for example, of the code configuration of the sound data and parts for playing back the sound data. A priority determining means determines the priority of the sound data at each point of time during the advance of a game in accordance with the priority information and determines lowest-priority sound data serving as sound data whose priority is the lowest. A channel opening means opens a channel corresponding to the lowest-priority sound data. Since the priority information is determined according to the musical analysis of the game sound data, the sound data are not played back when it is determined that the low-priority sound data are not played back, so that the sense of the incompatibility, which is to be given to the playback of the whole game music, can be minimized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
