PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly prevent cutting chips from being bitten by controlling an attachment change sequence to automatically remove the cutting chips accumulated in a ram, in changing an attachment. SOLUTION: There are provided a cooling medium ejecting means for ejecting the cooling medium toward the ram 14 from a nozzle 24, a solenoid valve 32 for controlling ejection and stop of the cooling medium from the cooling medium ejecting means, and a sequence control means 42 for controlling each motion of machine tool parts constituting a series of processes for an automatic attachment change. The sequence control means 42 controls the sequence for the automatic attachment change based on a macro program in which a series of the sequences for the automatic attachment change is described, when an attachment change command is given from a NC unit. The cutting chip biting preventive sequence for opening and closing the solenoid valve 32 in conjunction with movement of the ram 14 is added to the macro program. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
