PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart motions richer in variation to a toy walking by swinging legs. SOLUTION: When the running direction of a motor is changed into a reverse direction from the direction of forward walking, fan-shaped gears 49 and 50 are rotated and driven, the first front leg 60 turns round ahead of a first leg supporting body 55, and the second front leg 80 turns round in the rear of a second leg supporting body 75. As in the case of the forward walking, the turning force is transferred to the front legs 60 and 80 via conversion gears 58 and 78 and eccentric rotors 64 and 84; and the front legs 60 and 80 are swung so as to make an interval longer or shorter in a lateral direction, and laterally moved so as to change the direction of the whole of the toy.
