PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic tool changer, which can prevent intrusion of chips, etc., into a double surface constraint tool by cleaning an area around the end face of a main spindle by jetting air from the automatic tool changer toward the area around the end face of the main spindle. SOLUTION: The automatic tool changer 13 is provided with a body 22 which enters the tool changing position from the direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the main spindle 16 of a machine tool. The body 22 is provided with a cleaning means 30 having a nozzle portion 31 for jetting air from the neighborhood of the tool gripping portion of a tool changing arm 24 toward the end face of the main spindle 16.
