PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting machine, which can carry out machining without manually changing tools in a series of machining processes using a tool unit having a built-in electric spindle, further does not lower machining precision very much. SOLUTION: The cutting machine has two or more tool holding bodies for holding the tool unit having the built-in electric spindle. The respective tool holding bodies can move to a machining position where a workpiece is machined by means of the tool unit having the built-in electric spindle. When one or more tool holding bodies are at the machining position, the rest of the tool holding bodies are withdrawn to a place that does not obstruct the machining. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
