PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent endoscopic apparatus which detects the fluorescence emitted from viable tissue irradiated with exciting light and detects the fluorescence adequately reflecting the tissue characteristic of the viable tissue even if mucus exists on the surface of the viable tissue. SOLUTION: A distal end 12 of an endoscope insertion portion 11 is provided with a nozzle 52 and this nozzle 52 extends forward from a nozzle port 53 and ejects an aqueous solution 54 toward the viable tissue in which the mucus exists, thereby removing the mucus on the mucous membrane of the viable tissue.
