PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operating efficiency of a rear grip part gripped with one hand as much as possible in a fishing rod. SOLUTION: The fishing rod is provided with a small-diameter part 14 formed near a rod butt and a large-diameter part 12 formed on the front side of the small-diameter part 14, composed of regions having greater lengths Z2 and Z3 than the length Z1 of the small-diameter part 14 and having the coated surface. The surface of the small-diameter part 14 has a higher coefficient of friction than that of the surface of the large-diameter part 12 in the grip region at the reat of the fishing rod in the region of the length gripped with the one hand.
