PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for automatically stopping a wrapping machine by which the accurate number of winding can be obtained without being affected by elongation of a film. SOLUTION: The device for automatically stopping the wrapping machine has a rotary shaft 25, a sending groove 26, a trigger structure 86, and a trigger transmission system 87. The rotary shaft 25 is linked to a driving system 77, has one exposed terminal part, and is rotated in one direction. The sending groove 26 is spirally formed on the outer periphery of the one terminal part of the rotary shaft 25, and used for sending an engaged member to the one terminal part side. The trigger structure 86 is used for supporting a following member 43 engaged to the sending groove 26 so as to be freely moved in the axial direction of the rotary shaft 25 and freely rotatable around the axis parallel to the rotary shaft 25. The trigger transmission structure 87 is linked to both of the trigger structure 86 and a crutch device 14, transmits an elastic power in the direction of pushing the following member 43 to the rotary shaft 25 to the trigger structure 86, connects a crutch so as to resist to the elastic force when the following member 43 is engaged with the sending groove 26, and disengage the clutch by releasing the elastic force when the following member 43 is turned to the rotary shaft side.
