PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of an air sump at the root of a transverse groove molding surface in a slit vent type mold for performing exhaustion from the gap between segments. SOLUTION: Vent slits 27 opened to the reference surface 25 for molding the tread profile surface 10 of a tire are formed between the divided surfaces 22S of a large number of segments 22 divided in the peripheral direction of the tire. The transverse groove molding surface 34 for forming a transverse groove has grooved wall molding surfaces 35 and 35 extending from the reference surface 25 to a tire molding inner cavity and a grooved bottom molding surface 36 splicing them. Each of the grooved wall molding surfaces 35 has a first slope 35A extending from the grooved bottom molding surface 36 along a grooved wall gradient, and a second slope 35B connected at a bent point Q and extending to the reference surface 25 so as to form a gentle slope.
