PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring medium for discriminating Candida, having excellent discrimination ability in discrimination i.e., whether Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis or both are present, in a short time by color of a colony on the medium, wherein, by using the medium, the Candida albicans or the Candida tropicalis from another fungus belonging to the Candida is clearly discriminated by color tone on the medium. SOLUTION: The coloring medium for discriminating Candida albicans contains magenta-gel as a chromogenic enzyme substrate and the coloring medium for discriminating Candida tropicalis contains x-glc.
