<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overlay mattress formed so as to be adapted to criterion for evaluation of countermeasure against bed sore. <P>SOLUTION: Since the overlay mattress is used by being placed on a basic mattress 2 such as a bed, it is formed by covering a soft material 3 having a prescribed thickness with a waterproof face cloth 4 having stretchability. As the soft material 3, a urethane foam material is used. The thickness thereof is set to, for example, 30 mm-70 mm, and a material having an apparent density of 10 kg/m<SP>3</SP>-100 kg/m<SP>3</SP>and a compression hardness of 10 N-400 N is used. In the soft material 3, a mechanical processing for adjusting the resilience may also be conducted at portions corresponding to the circumference of scapula and the circumference of sacra, to which body pressure is applied. With the face cloth 4, the upper surface, side surfaces and a part of the bottom surface of the soft material 3 may be covered, or the upper surface and side surfaces, or all the upper surface, side surfaces and bottom surface may be covered. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
