<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably improve the interest in a game machine such as a pachinko game machine including a variable display device for variably displaying identification information. <P>SOLUTION: A game board 2 of the pachinko game machine is provided with an operation port 3 and a big prize-winning port 4, and a display device 13 having a display part 13a is incorporated in the central part of the game board 2. A plurality of pattern columns are displayed on the display part 13a, and each pattern column is composed of two or more kinds of patterns. A control device 24 generates a special game state advantageous to the game player on the necessary condition that the pattern enters a specific display mode and it is finally stopped and displayed.
