PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manual pick-up device having a simple and light structure. SOLUTION: A manual pick-up device 10 includes a housing having a handle 18 at one end 12, a fixed jaw member 20 at an opposite end 14, and a longitudinally extending shank 16 extending therebetween. A movable jaw member 80 is pivotally supported within the housing and extends outwardly through a housing opening 87 to enable cooperation with the fixed jaw member 20. A spring 44-biased actuating trigger 70 is connected to the movable jaw member 80 by a connection element 90 such that manual actuation of the trigger 70 toward the handle 18 urges the closing of the movable jaw member 80 against the fixed jaw member 20, so as to enable an operator to grasp an object between the fixed and movable jaw members 20 and 80 of the device 10.
