PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treating apparatus which has a simple structure and which generates low noise. SOLUTION: This garbage treating apparatus is provided with agitation blades 12a, 12b for agitating the garbage housed in a tank 11 and an agitation blade driving motor 1 arranged in the lower part of the tank 11 inside the exterior cover for driving the blades 12a, 12b. This apparatus can furthermore be provided with a heating means and a control means for controlling the motor 1. Since the motor 1 is arranged in the lower part of the tank 11 inside the exterior cover, the centroid of this apparatus can be made low and the vibration can be reduced, namely, the noise to be generated in this apparatus can be made low.
