PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting stand of a screen or the like which stands steadily and has no forward bulging parts that give overbearing feeling to viewers, and which can be folded in a bar shape as a whole and in a small size convenient for carrying or storing. SOLUTION: The supporting stand comprises a supporting rod 2, leg bodies 3 fitted to both ends on a lower face of the supporting rod 2 by first hinge mechanisms 5, ground-contacting pestles 4 fitted to lower ends of the leg bodies 3 by second hinge mechanisms 6, and lock members 7 fitted movably lengthwise to the lower face of the supporting rod 2. In a folding state, the leg bodies 3 overlap the lower face of the supporting rod 2, and in a drawing-out state, the leg bodies 3 protrude downward from the supporting rod 2, wherein both states are fixed by the lock member 7.
