Grooves (7) are cut into the shaft (5) to improve bonding of the blade to the shaft (3) by reducing the effect of centrifugal force upon the join between the shaft and blade. A rotor comprises a plastic rotor part cast onto a metal shaft provided with a tight pattern of grooves or similar incisions extending in the peripheral direction, and into which the plastic material penetrates. The incision walls reduce the tendency of the centrifugal force generated during rotation to affect the bonding of the plastic material to these walls.
