Routing method for traffic to subscribers in telecommunication system, uses routing number supplied with information concerning subscriber's location and station

The routing number used to help the network operator route an incoming call to a subscriber is supplied with information concerning the geographical location of the subscriber. For a subscriber to the network driven by this operator, the routing number is also supplied with information regarding which station the subscriber is linked to. For a subscriber to another network, the routing number is supplied with information concerning which operator the call can be transferred to. An operator drives a first network with a number of stations and end terminals, the subscribers having a given catalogue number used to identify their station and end terminal. The routing number is used in combination with the catalogue number to provide the operator with all the routing information required in order to route an incoming call to a subscriber. An Independent claim is also included for a routing system using this method.
