A substituted 1,5-dihydropyrrol-2-one compound of formula I:and methods for preparing the compounds. Also disclosed are pharmarceutical compositions comprising the compounds and methods of using the compounds for the treatment or prophylaxis of pain, inflammatory and allergic reactions, depressions, drug abuse and various other diseases or conditions.
