PURPOSE: A method for stabilizing circumstances of shaft type reduction furnace by controlling distribution method of charging materials in the shaft type reduction furnace and reducing stagnation layer of the wall part of a lower part of the furnace is provided. CONSTITUTION: In a method for clearing stagnation layer formed on the wall part of a lower part of the furnace after using 100% lump ore in a shaft type reduction furnace comprising a screw shaped discharge device, the method for clearing the stagnation layer of charging materials in the shaft type reduction furnace is characterized in that smooth discharge of the charging materials is guided by mixing about 30 wt.% of pellet having good rolling characteristics with the charging materials when charging the charging materials into the shaft type reduction furnace, thereby changing discharge of the charging materials in the lower part of the furnace from W shape to U shape.
