LID LOCKING DEVICE OF WASHING MACHINE

PURPOSE: A lid locking device of a washing machine is provided to open and shut a lid even if power is turned off and improve the reliability of motions. CONSTITUTION: A lid locking device of a washing machine is composed of a solenoid(2); a plunger(3) embedded in the solenoid to move backward and forward to the turning on/off of the solenoid; an elastic member(4) mounted on an outer periphery of the plunger to move the plunger forward; a connection bar(5) of which an end is hinge-combined to the front end of the plunger; an extension spring(6) of which an end is connected to other end of the connection bar to apply restoring force on the connection bar in moving the plunger backward; a lid locking slide(7) installed at a region between the plunger and the extension spring and moved downward in moving the plunger forward to the working of the solenoid to keep a hook locking state; hook holders(8) pushed apart from each other in advancing a hook head and approached in finishing the approach of the hook to tighten the neck under the hook head and to prevent moving-back by a latch effect of the lid locking slide after finishing the descent of the lid locking slide; an elastic member(9) installed at the outside of the hook holder to approximately pressurize both hook holders; a slide arm(10) arranged at the side of the lid locking slide; a returning spring(11) applying returning force toward the ascending direction of the lid locking slide; a lid locking/unlocking detection switch(12) turned on by the press of the slide arm to the descending of the lid locking slide to detect a lid locking state; a lid opening and shutting detection switch pressing piece(13) disposed to the lower of the hook holder to move toward the direction identical with the approach direction of the hook; a pressing piece-guiding bracket(14) guiding the ascending and descending motions of the lid opening and shutting detection switch pressing piece; a lid opening and shutting detection switch(15) of which a contact point is turned on or off to the ascending and descending of the lid opening and shutting detection switch pressing piece to detect the lid opening and shutting state; and the hook having a hook rod part, a pushing rod part, and a frame rod part.
